As part of our Pillar Passions program, Pillar Properties is partnered with Move for Hunger to support the fight to end hunger. The Move For Hunger program works to transport the unwanted food left behind during the moving process to local food banks.
When a resident moves out, they don't have to hassle with moving the unwanted non-perishable food in their kitchen. We collect it all and Move For Hunger delivers it to our local food bank, Northwest Harvest. It makes us sad when residents move out, but we're happy we can provide an opportunity to make the process easier while also helping those in need.
We have rolled out the program at all of our Puget Sound area properties and have collected a total of 993 pounds of food. This donation has helped to provide 828 meals to those in need.
We can't wait to see the continued impact this program can make in our community!
